ADMINISTRATION

attendance

  • Cadets must check in at the attendance table when they arrive.

  • Late arrivals must check in at the Administration Office to be marked present.

  • All absences should be reported only to the unit inbox at 2784army@cadets.gc.ca

ANNUAL VALIDATIONS

  • At the start of the training year cadets are provided with Annual Validation Forms.

  • The forms must be completed by parents/guardians to verify the information and returned to the unit as soon as possible.

  • Missing forms may lead to the cadet missing out on training opportunities after a set deadline.

Communications

  • The unit uses this website as the primary method for sharing training information.

  • The unit may send out mass emails to parents/guardians to share important information.

  • All inquiries should be directed to the unit inbox (2784army@cadets.gc.ca) and will be answered by the appropriate staff member.

  • Parents/guardians are encouraged to join our private Facebook group to get event reminders.

TRAINING

SCHEDULE

  • Cadets run from 1830hrs to 2100hrs every Wednesday from September to June, the training schedule can be found here.

  • Lessons are taught on Wednesday nights and include leadership, navigation, instructional techniques, general cadet knowledge, and marksmanship.

    • Cadets are expected to bring a pen, paper, and a water bottle to be prepared for lessons.

  • Cadets are split into four (4) star levels, based on age and time of enrollment (Green, Red, Silver, Gold, and Master Cadet).

REGISTERING FOR ACTIVITIES

  • The unit runs weekend activities throughout the year.

  • Registrations for weekend activities are mandatory and have deadlines, registration links can be found here.

SUPPLY

Issuing of Uniform

  • How long will it take to receive a uniform?

    • It will depend on whether your size is available in stock, otherwise, it may take 2-3 weeks to receive a new order.

    • Cadets are responsible for seeing the supply staff to get their measurements. They are set up every Wednesday night with a table at the side of the parade square.

  • How do I replace uniform pieces that are damaged or the wrong size?

    • Bring in uniform pieces cleaned/washed and tell the supply staff the reason for returning the item such as damaged or too small. M

  • Can I keep my uniform when I leave cadets?

    • Only next-to-skin items may be retained after leaving cadets such as undershirts for FTUS/DEUS, socks, and toques.

  • How do I know which uniform to wear on parade nights?

    • The order of dress for every training night can be found here.

    • Cadets alternate dress depending on the planned activities:

      • CO Parades - C1 (Full Dress Uniform)

      • Sport Nights - Fitness Attire

      • Other training nights - Field Training Uniform
